    This position is responsible for supporting the Company’s oil and gas property accounting function. 

    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Analyze data, prepare journal entries and assist in the preparation of various accounting schedules, reports, filings and/or statements
    • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
    • Research oil and gas property issues, as needed
    • Responsible for calculating, recording, reconciling and analysis of the following on a monthly basis:  DD&A and Fixed Asset system, AFE accruals, Land system journal entries, capital expenditures and work-in-progress
    • Responsible for quarterly additions and maintenance of asset retirement obligations
    • Perform and document internal controls to comply with SOX and Company policies
    • Collaborate with operations and finance personnel on oil and gas property matters
    • Interact with external and internal auditors on various matters associated with oil and gas property accounting
    • Work with and provide guidance to property accounting department staff
    • Reports to the Property Accounting Manager
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting required
    • 3+ years of relevant oil and gas property and relevant industry experience required
    • In depth knowledge of accounting for oil and gas operations
    • Mergers, divestitures and acquisitions experience a plus
    • Supervisory experience a plus
    • Strong accounting and analytical skills
    • Strong computer skills: proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Excel and Word; experience with P2/Oracle applications a plus
    • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
    • Detail oriented, self-starter and ability to multi-task
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Ability to recognize and solve complex accounting issues
